Penuche Frosting

1/2 c butter
1 c. brown sugar
1/4 c. milk
1 3/4 - 2 c. powdered sugar

Melt butter and add sugar.  Boil over low heat for 2 minutes, stirring constantly.  Stir in milk.  Stir until it comes to a boil.  Cool to lukewarm. Gradually add powdered sugar until it is the right consistency for spreading.


~ Penuche frosting was Ruby's favorite to put on spice cake.
