Cracked Wheat Cereal (Mush)

1 c. cracked wheat
3 c. water
1/2 t. salt

Boil together 30 minutes, stirring frequently.  Serve with sugar and cream.

~Verlin's family had mush for breakfast almost every day.  They had chickens on their farm, but they rarely ate the eggs as eggs were a commodity which could be sold. I think mush was not his favorite food.
